It is not a requirement to have receipts for accidental damage claims. However, for theft, loss (phone only), and mechanical/electrical failure claims, it is required that you show your receipts. This is the quickest way for us to confirm proof of ownership.
If you no longer have your receipts, proof of ownership can be established through other means:
You can contact the original retailer from whom you purchased the items. Often, they will have records going back a year or two of past transactions. Provide your name, phone number, email, or credit card number so they can try to track down the receipt.
For items you purchased used or through a third-party marketplace platform, such as eBay or Offerup, request that an email be sent from the seller stating the purchase date, amount paid, and item description. This can count as proof of purchase, even for cash purchases.
As a best practice, keep track of your receipts! Have copies emailed to you when you purchase items, or take pictures of receipts and save them. You can also make a habit of immediately uploading them to your AKKO account.
