Your device’s battery naturally degrades over time with regular use. Issues caused by normal battery degradation are not covered by AKKO. However, battery failure or malfunction is covered.
Battery Failure - Covered
Battery failure refers to a malfunction, which may include:
Complete battery failure
Battery overheating issues
Random device shutoffs caused by battery problems
Battery swelling
Battery damaged during a drop (dent/puncture)
Battery Degradation - Not Covered
Battery degradation is the normal decline in battery capacity over time, including:
Natural loss of battery capacity/health over time
Battery health dropping below 80% due to aging
Regular decline in battery performance that’s expected with use
Your phone’s charge not lasting as long as it once did
Most manufacturers recommend replacing the battery when its health drops below 80%. You can get this done at a local repair shop, just keep in mind this would be outside your AKKO coverage.
